Parental Involvement
Aurora believes a strong partnership between students, their parents and carers and the school is essential for good personal and educational development. Aurora schools achieve this by:
Creating an ethos whereby parents and carers feel valued, respected and well supported
- Expecting parents and carers to attend and contribute to consultations about their child’s progress
- Encouraging parents and carers to attend and contribute to regular curriculum events throughout the year
- Ensuring that communication and support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and their families, is of the highest quality
- Ensuring that welfare provision and support is of the highest standard
- Ensuring arrangements for students joining our schools either before or during the school year, enable them to settle in quickly and confidently
- Ensuring arrangements for students leaving our schools either before, during or at the end of the school year, enable them to transfer successfully
Providing opportunities and encouraging parents and carers to contribute by giving honest and clear feedback to surveys, questionnaires and ‘Parent/Carer Voice’ meetings
- Ensuring that parents and carers are represented on the Local Academy Board (LAB) of each school
- Providing families with the knowledge and skills that they need to support their children effectively with their learning at home
- Providing opportunities for families to further develop their own skills to enable students to be happy, confident and healthy
