Oakwood Primary Academy is one of the four original schools that became part of Aurora Academies Trust in 2012. The school is at the heart of the community it serves. Situated in the Willingdon Trees area of Eastbourne, the school is two-form entry and has capacity for 420 pupils across fourteen classes. In addition to the main school building, we are proud of our Foundation Village, where pupils from our Nursery and Early Years setting engage in learning through play together – this is a unique feature of the school, and includes a sensory room and woodland. We benefit from generous school grounds.
We have high aspirations for all of our pupils. Our school values are ‘Knowledge, Equality, Determination, Achievement' for every single pupil through a curriculum which is challenging, aspirational and innovative. Our curriculum offer to pupils is one which is broad and balanced. Our Paragon curriculum is exciting and enriching and helps our pupils to acquire knowledge and skills about the world they live in, studying significant historical events and periods in the past. The dedicated staff team regularly review the curriculum to ensure that the needs of all pupils are being met.
If you would like to find out more about the school and what we can offer your child, please do not hesitate to arrange a visit. We look forward to welcoming you to Oakwood Primary Academy.
